FP&A Analyst
Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days in the office)
Salary: £50,000 + Bonus + Study Support
Reporting to: Head of Finance
The Opportunity
Our client, a high-profile strategic communications consultancy with a global reach, is seeking a commercially-minded FP&A Analyst to join their London team. This role reports into the Head of Finance and will play a central part in the financial planning, analysis, and reporting that supports the firm’s continued growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone studying with a strong analytical skillset and confident communication style, ideally from a communications, PR, media, or professional services background.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of the annual budgeting process across all global offices
- Lead monthly and quarterly reforecasting processes, challenging assumptions and ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Support the development of long-range financial models and scenario planning to guide senior leadership
Business Partnering & Insight
- Build close working relationships with client team leads and department heads to provide clear, actionable financial insight
- Deliver monthly performance reviews with stakeholders, explaining variances, trends, and risks/opportunities
- Act as a key contact for financial queries from the wider business, translating complex financial data into business-friendly language
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting packs, including analysis of revenue, headcount, and profitability
- Track utilisation and capacity across project teams to help drive resourcing decisions and margin improvement
- Monitor key financial KPIs, such as client profitability, staff cost ratios, and overhead allocation
Systems & Process Improvement
- Support the roll-out of new reporting tools and dashboards, ensuring reporting is accurate, timely, and user-friendly
- Help streamline existing finance processes, promoting automation and consistency across reporting cycles
- Liaise with the financial reporting team to ensure alignment between actuals, forecasts, and business commentary
Profile Sought
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an FP&A, commercial finance, or management accounting role
- Background in a communications, creative, PR, marketing, media or professional services business highly desirable
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-based environment with multiple revenue streams
- Strong Excel skills; experience
- Proactive, curious and detail-oriented with strong commercial acumen
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to build rapport with non-finance colleagues and influence decision-making
