Role: Controller
Location: New York / Hybrid
We are seeking a Controller to join a rapidly growing marketing agency and lead the accounting function during a key stage of growth and expansion. This role will oversee end-to-end accounting operations, build scalable financial infrastructure, and partner closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making across the organization.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening financial processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting the continued development of a best-in-class finance function within a high-growth environment.
Reporting Line: VP Finance
Key Responsibilities
- Own all aspects of accounting operations and lead the monthly close process under US GAAP.
- Design and implement scalable accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and manage external audit processes.
- Partner with senior finance leadership to deliver financial insights supporting operational and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Oversee multi-entity accounting structures and intercompany accounting processes.
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives across accounting and finance workflows.
- Support the continued development and scaling of the finance infrastructure.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operational, technical, and leadership teams to improve financial visibility and reporting accuracy.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance, and financial governance.
Qualifications & Experience
- CPA qualification required with strong technical accounting expertise under US GAAP.
- Prior audit background strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting and monthly close processes.
- Familiarity with multi-entity accounting structures and intercompany reconciliations.
- Strong ERP systems knowledge; experience with modern finance systems and automation tools preferred.
- Demonstrated experience building or improving finance functions within scaling organizations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional stakeholder management abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy and process integrity.
