Whip your LinkedIn profile into shape
Think of your LinkedIn profile like a living CV. It’s the first thing a hiring manager will look at when they hear your name – and will also make their first impression of you. Make it count.
Are you someone with attention to detail? What value do you bring to the table? How does your past experience qualify you for a role?
Make a list of target companies / Industries.
A job search is easier when you get a picture in your mind of the kind of business you’d like to work in. Make a list of places you’d like to work; while they may not be your ‘final destination’, it can help you clarify the types of places you’d like to work.
Get your CV into shape.
The first thing you’ll need to apply for a job is a well-written CV. There’s nothing worse than writing one under pressure, so take the time to craft it now. Break the challenge down into parts and allow time for each section to maintain focus.
Document your successes!
Make a list of your achievements, things you’ve worked on. Document real examples of your work and your contributions. It’s much easier to capture this while you’re working than trying to remember back.
