Chief Financial Officer
Our client, a Corporate Communications agency, is about to go through some rapid growth. With ambitious yet achievable plans, the client is going to make some significant acquisitions and organically grow the business both in the UK and internationally. They are looking for a Chief Financial Officer with strong M&A experience, integration experience and understanding of how finance impacts the business. Working alongside a brilliant CEO (who is also a numbers person), this role will have a strong FD and finance team for the day to day, but will need to work strategically on the growth and future of the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee a finance function, including systems, processes, and controls, that will enable the business to scale
- Oversee all aspects of operational finance including treasury, tax, and audit. Annual accounts production and submission.
- Manage key external relationships including investors, auditors, and suppliers
Business strategy
- Work closely with the CEO to develop the business model and financial forecast
- Lead the financial planning process, by developing KPIs and appropriate business analysis, revenue projections and forecasting processes across all functions to help decision-making
- Report to the board of directors against this strategy, on a quarterly basis
- Identify opportunities to maximise profit margins while also reducing expenditure
- Perform ongoing risk management
Investment and acquisition
- Identifying investment opportunities and managing any mergers and acquisitions
- Lead on all legal negotiations for investment and / or acquisitions.
- Lead on compliance.

- Leadership skills – The CFO will join our leadership team so should have clear leadership skills with the ability to delegate, motivate and inspire other team members as well – They should have the ability to present with confidence and clarity to the c-suite, the board and to external investors
- Ambitious, strategic thinking – This individual should be able to think strategically about the future of the business, acting as a trusted partner to the CEO and a reliable point of contact for the board and future investors.
