The role
Reporting to the Group Managing Director, this role will oversee the commercial performance of the group’s largest business unit. It’s a strategic and operational role that partners with senior leadership to shape commercial decision-making, secure strong client partnerships, and drive profitable growth in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the commercial management of key client accounts, ensuring long-term partnerships, profitability, and mutual success
- Oversee pricing strategies, proposals, and contracts to secure competitive yet profitable commercial terms
- Work closely with Client Services, Legal, and Finance to ensure robust governance and risk management across contracts and agreements
- Monitor utilisation, margin performance, and key commercial KPIs — and take proactive steps to optimise profitability
- Analyse client performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape strategic roadmaps and set commercial targets aligned to the wider business goals
- Drive process improvements that enhance commercial performance, from scoping projects to delivery and post-campaign analysis
- Serve as a key point of contact for escalations and complex client negotiations
- Support the development of commercial frameworks, tools, and best practice guidelines for the wider team
- Build strong internal relationships, championing collaboration between delivery, finance, operations, and client teams
Who we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Director or equivalent senior commercial role within media, marketing, or a related creative sector
- Strong background in pricing strategy, contracts, margin management, and commercial governance
- Highly commercial, flexible, and entrepreneurial — with a keen eye for improving processes and profitability
- Excellent communicator and negotiator, comfortable managing high-value, complex client relationships
- Confident working with data and financial metrics to drive decision-making
- Collaborative and influential, able to build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders and clients
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment with shifting priorities
- Track record of supporting growth and driving improvements in commercial performance
