Are you a seasoned accounting professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for financial accuracy and efficiency? Our client, a leading international digital agency, is looking for a hands-on Assistant Controller to join their Los Angeles office.

In this role, you will lead financial reporting and analysis, streamline the month-end close process, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX. You will also play a key role in mentoring a team and partnering with cross-functional teams to support the company’s continued growth.


What You’ll Need to Succeed

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or similar certification preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years of people management in a public company or public accounting firm.
  • High technical accounting skills with a strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Experience in a high-growth industry and ability to adapt to fast-paced environments.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop talent.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working across different time zones with a flexible schedule.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

  • Previous experience in adtech, tech, or digital media.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, ADP, and Salesforce.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Controller, you will:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations in the US and Canada, leading and mentoring a team of four.
  • Manage the financial month-end close process, ensuring all data is reconciled, documented, and reported accurately.
  • Prepare monthly revenue recognition schedules and perform analytical reviews of financial statements.
  • Optimize and streamline the month-end closing process while maintaining a high level of compliance.
  • Support and oversee SOX compliance measures, implementing new policies as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist with annual audit inquiries, ensuring timely delivery of requested materials.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, HR, and IT to drive financial efficiency and support hypergrowth.
