About the Role

Our client, a high-growth, international Public Relations firm, is looking for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join their London-based finance team. This role is ideally suited for a Big 4 trained accountant with experience in SOX compliance and group reporting, looking to step into a dynamic in-house finance function with a clear progression path to Financial Controller.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain, monitor and enhance SOX-compliant internal controls, ensuring all control procedures are fully documented, tested, and operational
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal control compliance across the group
  • Perform regular SOX walkthroughs and control testing, identifying control gaps and working with stakeholders to remediate issues
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including planning, fieldwork, and resolution of audit queries
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation in line with audit requirements
  • Partner with auditors to ensure clean and timely year-end audits
  • Maintain compliance with corporate policies and support ad-hoc internal audit initiatives
  • Support the CFO with strategic direction 
  • Ensure proper documentation and evidencing of key controls, reconciliations, and approvals
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of improved reporting and control frameworks across the finance function
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to promote a strong culture of compliance and financial governance

Requirements

  • ACA qualified (Big 4 trained)
  • Solid experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation
  • Proficient in Excel and experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle)
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive and commercially minded, with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
