Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-driven professional to play a key role in their finance team, supporting business leaders and driving financial performance.

About the Role

As Management Accountant, you’ll be instrumental in delivering accurate monthly accounts, providing actionable financial insights, and supporting strategic decision-making. Reporting directly to the Directors, you’ll take ownership of core finance processes while contributing to the continuous improvement of the agency’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports, including reconciliations and adjustments (bank, AP, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet).
  • Manage fixed assets and intercompany balances.
  • Deliver monthly variance analysis and narrative reporting for Group submission.
  • Prepare client invoicing and assist with forecasting and budgeting cycles.
  • Support business strategy with trend analysis and data-driven insights.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage credit card reconciliations, stock take reporting, and HMRC submissions (e.g., VAT via MTD, P11Ds).
  • Oversee payroll and staff benefits administration (Vitality, cycle-to-work, childcare, car leasing).
  • Occasionally support general office operations, including courier coordination and front-line client communication.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in a management accounting role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
  • Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
    • Tech-savvy, proactive, and highly organised.
