Our client, a global Emmy-winning entertainment company, has an opening for an experienced Production Finance Executive to support their TV division based in Los Angeles.

This role will work closely with the Production, Post, and Creative teams, as well as the Corporate Finance, Accounting, and Business & Legal Affairs teams to ensure that production finance procedures are adhered to, accountants are onboarded properly onto  systems, and both internal and external studio responsibilities are handled with care.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as point person and work closely with internal cross functional teams for project specific accounting and finance information in the form of maintaining and sharing information and reports
  • Proactively maintain and administer production finance infrastructure and systems in advance of productions starting in the form of location specific infrastructure requirements, ATL payment schedules, production cash flow exposure, etc
  • Liaise with producing partners’ production finance & accounting teams as it relates to receiving reports, invoicing, cash flow, tax credits, etc
  • Manage the accounting staffing of assigned projects during development, prep, production and post production
  • Oversee on-set accounting responsibilities such as accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, etc. for full lifecycle of projects (early prep, development, writers room, post production, and delivery)
  • Providing guidance and oversight to on-set accountants during production, as it relates to onboarding, introducing processes, and sharing accounting manuals and templates
  • Track and process any studio based delivery payments and fees to talent and partners
  • Oversee the accounting wrap and delivery process for production and post production
  • Manage various audits including tax credits, insurance claims, union audits, and partner specific audits

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of previous experience with production finance
  • Experience working in-house for a studio or production company in a production finance / accounting role
  • Experience working with production accounting software’s and Movie Magic Budgeting
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Motivated self-starter skilled in multitasking, time management, and strong organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Humble, diligent and resourceful
