Staff Accountant
Our client, one of the world’s largest producer’s of groundbreaking live entertainment, has an opening for Staff Accountant to join their rapidly growing finance team based in Sydney.
The Staff Accountant will oversee the purchase ledger, sales ledger banking and monthly management accounts preparation. You will report and work closely with UK based Director of Finance to provide support to the finance functions.
The successful candidate will showcase a “can do” attitude, attention to detail, strong communication, thrive under pressure, and be prepared to take a “sleeves rolled up” approach when required.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and post accounts payable and accounts receivable entries in MYOB accurately and timely.
- Monthly reconciliation of major supplier statements.
- Process supplier payments both in MYOB and bank for FD to authorize.
- Record timely and accurately bank receipts and payments, recording of credit card data in MYOB.
- Complete bank reconciliations accurately and timely.
- As part of the management accounting process, prepare monthly job costing reports for FD review.
- Efficient running of credit control process.
- Review and approve credit notes, review detailed aged debt reports periodically.
- Ensure that the fixed asset and lease schedules are kept up to date and input to the FBT process.
- Assist External Tax agent on local tax and compliance filing.
- Assist with yearend audit and budget requirements.
- Assist on ad-hoc duties.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Methodical, organized and accurate with excellent attention to detail.
- Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Able to work on own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office including Excel.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
Experience:
- Experience of a similar position.
- Experience of an office environment.
- Experience in MYOB and Oracle NetSuite.
