Our client, an award winning production agency, has an opening for an experienced Production Accountant to join their Sydney finance team.

The Production Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of production across both the Factual and Scripted slates, including budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and cash flow management. The Production Accountant will work closely with the production team to ensure that all financial aspects of the production are managed effectively and efficiently. The role will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Completion / Coordination of all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll processes for all productions,
  • Completion / Coordination of all cost reporting, including running regular cost report meetings with Executive Producers, Production Executive and Finance Manager,
  • Coordination of production audits for reporting to investors and third parties
  • Coordination of Producer Offset & PDV calculations, audits and lodgements for the company ensuring timely completion for inclusion in the annual Tax Return,
  • Provision of a fully reconciled month end trial balance for each production to the corporate finance team for upload into the corporate accounting system (Xero)
  • Preparation of weekly cash flows for all productions
  • Preparation of investor drawdown schedules for all productions

Qualifications

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting
  • Experience in the film and television industry
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in MydaEs and Xero preferable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferable but not essential
