As part of the Technical Accounting team, you will play a vital role in supporting both the operating companies and other Group functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations expected of a FTSE 50 business.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor existing and new accounting and regulatory policies to ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards (IFRS) and regulations.
  • Compile literature and effectively communicate changes to accounting policies and practices to relevant stakeholders.
  • Review the accounting treatment for significant new/modified contracts and projects to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare technical summary papers for complex accounting transactions or business issues, providing thorough research and analysis to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies throughout the Group, offering support and guidance to operating companies as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments (tax, treasury, legal, M&A) and operating companies to address new or complex accounting scenarios.
  • Support the Group Technical Accounting team in developing and delivering clear and informative training sessions and accounting updates across the Group.
  • Assist the Group Reporting team to guarantee accurate, timely periodic reporting that complies with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Review the Group’s financial statements and provide technical accounting input where necessary.
  • Provide information, support, and collaboration with external auditors and advisors.

Requirements:

  • Qualified ACA Accountant either from practice or with technical accounting experience in industry.
  • Previous experience working with a large multinational company, preferably with exposure to UK & US listings.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS, SOX, and internal control frameworks.
  • Familiarity with SEC regulations & requirements is advantageous.
